What is the Liar Game? It is just another round in the game called “Life”.
In this day and age, trust has become a scarce commodity. If you could sell out your closest friend for a million dollars, would you be willing to betray? If being betrayed meant you would have a debt of a million dollars, is your closest friend still trustworthy?
People participate in a masquerade, showing the public only what the public wants to see. You don’t know if, under that mask, your best friend would throw you to the wolves for greed or just to merely to be on the safe side. You’ll probably begin to fear. That friend also has no idea of your true intentions. Even if you are pure of heart, they don’t know until the moment of reckoning. Trust does not necessarily follow between a meeting of two saints.
The Liar Game seeks to remove those masks and expose reality. But not everyone is willing to remove it, and they will lie and do whatever it takes to convince you that the mask is their true face. If you want to find the truth and escape with your life, you must begin to use your wits and examine the minds of other participants. Who knows? Maybe, just maybe, you’ll find friends with like-minded goals. Maybe you'll even persuade hearts.
The Liar Game also seeks to determine the greatest liar through a tournament of games. If beneath your mask is the Devil’s face, you must figure out a way to outwit the other feeble-minded imps surrounding you; not everyone who comes here will be mere sheep. In fact, these types of games are like honey to the Machiavellian personalities. Now, we can't build a tournament with real money, but we're certain that the ego will make an excellent substitute.
This website is based off of Shinobu Kaitani’s work, Liar Game, which has ended recently as of this post. The original series is a manga, which has also been adapted into two separate dramas (J-Drama, K-Drama). As for the work itself? Circumstance throws an idealistic girl into a mental warzone where everyone lies and betrays their way to survival in a series of games hosted by the mysterious Liar Game Tournament Office. In Hell, is humanity truly a free-for-all, or can the honest heart pave a way to mutual survival?
