As we've come to expect, Reynard von Fox manages to smuggle his cash and confiscate some more of hazelnutbrew's money. Everyone else passes (so Gloria gets to smuggle some pocket change) and returns home as the wall finally goes up.
Player #09 (darinas3) vs. Player #17 (superfreak): pass, no smuggling
Player #05 (lacey) vs. Player #19 (Morte): pass, no smuggling
Player #08 (Sir Reynard Fox) vs. Player #20 (hazelnutbrew): Fox smuggles 100m yen and confiscates 100m yen
Player #16 (deendir) vs. Player #15 (Gloria Augusta): Gloria smuggles 25m yen
Inactive: Morte will make a final payment of 50m to the LGT. For the Inspection Phase, hazelnutbrew was inactive.
So, how did everything turn out?
In a dark messy office, the West Banking Director's hands are trembling, the paper detailing the recent events floating out of his hand. How could this be happening? First, one guy was shot for sloth. Okay, these things happen. The enemy managed to sneak out everything, leaving nothing to nationalize. Foreseeable consequence, sure. But all that smuggling by the enemy and Inspections only called Doubt once? Were they asleep? Ugh. How about funds? Only one managed to smuggle back everything, and that was the bare minimum to not hit debt. Or maybe the problem was teamwork? When a team ends up with six counts of Treason, something broke down. Just thinking about it makes steam rise out of his head. Everyone is fired.
In a high-end fancypants office, the East Banking Director raises a toast. They've managed to win by a massive landslide of 1.7 billion yen! It looks like the enemy lost nearly half their money. The Director beams, because he hated the Westies anyway. And all this glory is mostly thanks to the shining smuggler-inspector Reynard von Fox, who could literally do the work of two. In fact, his Swiss account landed past a billion yen! Although nobody else did much inspecting, the teammates at least managed to smuggle everything back and there's not a hint of Treason to be seen. Good job, everyone!
FINAL RESULTS
Scores are listed below in charts, the cash is in millions of yen. They include any loans received due to Treason.
West Team, Acts of Treason: 6
East Team
With a score of West's 1050m yen vs. East's 2750m yen, East team wins big by 1700m yen! The East team will collect Morte's remaining 200m yen to split it four ways before returning 550m yen to the LGT. The West team will be returning 400m yen...whether they have it or not. Traitors will then be rewarded as they deserve.
Now that everything is settled, congratulations to the East team! Don't go too far though, because we'll have a "leisurely" Winner's Round to keep you occupied. As for the West team, you'll have a chance to redeem yourselves in our upcoming Revival Round! Although everyone's Contraband accounts will be updated to reflect the final results, your tournament bank accounts, trophies, and stars will only be updated after the conclusion of the North-South Contraband Game.
