INTRODUCTION
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your decision to participate in the AMAZING Liar Game Tournament Classic! We ask that you read everything below to get an appropriate understanding of how this Tournament works and what to expect.
Some of you may have participated in prior affiliated Tournaments. In those Tournaments, the objective was to win the final game. Money was nice, but its purpose was to be a lifeline to bribe your way out of the grave.
In contrast, we built this particular Tournament as a translation of the games from the official Liar Game, so that you can enjoy them on the forum. We have made an effort to rebalance and rebuild those games so that you might experience the same thrills as did the characters. So that these games are playable, please note that we have taken a few liberties. What works for a story, does not necessarily work for a forum game.
As most characters had the mission of escaping the Tournament, so will you. Therefore, the objective of this Tournament is not to win the final game, but to ESCAPE without debts. “Quit while you’re ahead” is a popular saying. Of course, we will provide multiple ways to measure your success. Even the Akiyama-minded “Kill the LGT” and Nao-minded “Save everyone” are valid goals in our Tournament.
We wish to note that because dropping out is a legitimate strategy due to the style of this Tournament, the Tournament might suddenly conclude early (while other Tournaments were structured to support the player’s continued participation). Therefore, we reserve the right to manipulate the order of the games. However, this means that substitutes and latecomers have an excellent chance at joining the Tournament.
By the way, if you haven’t done so, please read our Code of Conduct!
HALL OF VICTORY
There are many ways to measure success. We will put up lists to show the players’ achievement, which we will rank by the most grand.
1) Liar King/Queen of the LGT Classic (Won the final game)
2) Pre-Tournament Debt (Cleared your total starting debt that you determined pre-Tournament)
3) Fat Bank Account (You made the biggest profits)
4) Furthest Round (How far you progressed through the Tournament until retiring)
5) Survive (Exit the Tournament without incurring any additional debt)
And for those thinking about how much money the LGT might be making, we will post a final profit (loss) at Tournament conclusion.
