Musical Chairs
Objective: Be the last player still seated!
Setup
1) Participants eliminated in Revival Round II are eligible to play as Gaya. They do not begin the game with Medals or Chairs, but can receive and transfer them.
2) Each Player receives 12 Medals in his/her own name.
3) Each Player receives a random Chair between 1-12
4) Each round is divided into Seating Phase and Voting Phase, both lasting 48h; see their respective sections for more information.
5) At any time, Players and Gaya may transfer possession of Medals or Chairs. Inventory updates at the end of the current Phase. Money in the Bank Account is not transferable during the game.
5a) Individual Medals and Chairs can change ownership once per Phase.
5b) A player can only transfer the Medals and Chairs he/she has on hand.
Seating Phase
1) A Player sends a PM to the Dealer describing in which Chair he/she will sit. This may be any Chair still in the game, even if it is not currently in his/her possession. Players may send in a list to prioritize these Chairs.
2) Players cannot sit in the same Chair for two consecutive Seating Phases.
3) If a player fails to sit in a Chair under his/her possession, was inactive, gets Blocked, or attempts to Block, he/she becomes Gaya.
3a) If a Player has an eligible Chair in his/her possession, he/she will randomly sit in one if the PM sent to the Dealer did not include an eligible Chair and did not exclude the Chair.
3b) A Chair transferred to the Player during the current Seating Phase will be considered as part of the receiver's possession, not of the sender.
4) Players and Gaya may attempt to Block a player (see section “Block” for more information).
5) Once the Seating Phase is over, the game proceeds to the Voting Phase.
Voting Phase
1) The Dealer announces the Players becoming Gaya.
2) The Dealer will also announce any Blocks attempted on which targets, who took part, and whether the Blockers were successful.
3) Those just announced as Gaya are Candidates to become Remover, excluding inactives. If no player became Gaya or all players becoming Gaya were inactive during the Seating Phase, all current Gaya are Candidates to become Remover. If there are no Gaya in the game, the LGT will remove a Chair from the game at random.
3a) During the first Voting Phase only, players starting as Gaya are also eligible Candidates.
4) All Players and Gaya vote for a Candidate via PM to the Dealer.
4a) Candidates must also submit via PM which Chair to remove from the game. Candidates cannot decline to remove a chair.
4b) Voting is anonymous
4c) Players not wanting a particular winner can vote "no winner."
4d) Voting is mandatory (see section "Inactivity" for more information on penalties). For those who do not support a particular candidate, please submit "No winner".
5) The Candidate with the most votes becomes Remover and eliminates his/her selected Chair.
5a) If the Remover failed to submit a Chair in the game to remove, the Dealer will attempt the next option:
5a.i) From the Remover's possession, the LGT will eliminate the Chair most recently sat in.
5a.ii) If the only Chairs in possession are those the Remover did not sit in, he/she will lose one at random.
5a.iii) If the Remover possesses no Chairs, the next Candidate with the most votes becomes Remover, and so on.
5a.iv) If all Candidates receiving have been exhausted this way, the LGT will remove a Chair at Random
6) In case of ties between Candidates, the LGT will drop Gaya votes, and if a tiebreaker is still necessary, remove the last submitted vote until there is a winner.
7) Once the vote is over, the Dealer will announce the number of votes each Candidate received, remove the Chair, and the game proceeds to the next Seating Phase.
Block
1) Players and Gaya may attempt to Block a player during the Seating Phase. Send a PM to the Dealer stating which player to Block.
2) If at least three players/Gaya Block the same player, the targeted player automatically becomes Gaya. There is no other effect on the targeted player.
3) Each person can only make one successful Block. If the person fails in a given Seating Phase, he/she retains the option to attempt the Block.
Endgame and Payouts
1) The one remaining Player not Gaya after the Seating Phase is declared the Winner and moves on to Round IV. Everyone else heads to Revival Round III.
2) The Medals of the Winner are worth 100m yen, but Medals of the Winner still held by the Winner are worth 150m yen.
3) After the game, all Players except the Winner must pay the LGT 100m yen. The Winner, however, must pay the LGT 400m yen. Players starting as Gaya owe no debt.
4) If there is no winner, all players (excluding starting Gaya) will instead pay 50m yen to the LGT and proceed to Revival Round III.
5) Players starting as Gaya will be dismissed from the Tournament (but still have a chance reenter through standard Tournament Substitute rules).
Inactivity
1) Seating Phase. Players failing to send a PM with a decision on how to sit will receive a strike, become Gaya, and cannot become a Candidate for that Voting Phase. Gaya do not need to submit their decisions to do nothing during this Phase.
2) Voting Phase. Failure to vote means no vote counted, and that player receives a strike (here is a reminder to submit "No winner" if not backing a Candidate).
2a) Any Candidate not submitting a Chair to remove receives a strike. A Candidate sending nothing can therefore receive two strikes at once.
2b) If all players who became Gaya during the Seating Phase did so due to inactivity, the other Gaya will instead become the candidates.
3) Four strikes immediately remove the Player/Gaya, and the LGT will confiscate any Medals or Chairs in his/her possession, before any further calculation. Removed Players cannot receive Medals and Chairs. The Dealer will announce confiscated Medals and Chairs.
