We finally made it. Now that the LGT Classic is over, does anyone have any thoughts to share?

Hello all. I may have lied a little along the way. I have played in previous a previous lgt! I was called Satake Kazuyasu. Deendir may remember me. =P Now, I have to talk about my goals (Spoiler: I didn't actually want to win myself.) and about shit that happened. Maybe I'll leave some of it to others involved in shenanigans. Nevertheless, was fun. EDIT: Getting a bigger reveals post together, needed to say that first. I got a huge reveal at the end, but I'm not sure how fast I'll type it all up so I thought I'd dart in with this first : >

I'll save all mine for when the official stuff is all in. I'm mostly happy with how things have turned out. I will say I tried my best to apply The Art of War and Machiavellian principles as best I could.

Oh man, lots of things happened during this LGT XD OTL
There were some really great moments when I'd talk to someone with a lot more information and it'd be so easy to try to outplay them but instead I played dumb and it worked like a charm.
Although I did have a bit of a meltdown during R4, oh man that wasn't fun. Emergency after emergency piled up and that really affected gameplay in a way I didn't mean for it too, oops OTL ... yeah, superfreak and Reynard, I'm sorry for going off the rails during that round, that can't have been fun OTL OTL OTL
I have to say, all y'all were very forthcoming on your information. You're lucky it was just little old me getting all of it and not someone scary XD
I feel like my playstyle hasn't really changed in 6 years but it definitely still works, and I'm glad I've improved on my information gathering and fluffling instead of trying to play like a smart person since I'm not smart OTL
And oh man, during the earlier rounds with Incognito and Heather... y i k e s
I'm really happy with the outcome of the game, since now I have concrete proof that the way I play is feasible and sustainable >w<

So, I was a part of a network which did a lot of things in this tournament, but I'll leave it to them to talk about.
I want to mostly talk about the latter part of the tournament. The early part was mostly marked by me betraying Whitelion (3 times total I believe?). So, by the time Musical Chairs had arrived, I was firmly not trying to win the game myself. Instead I had another I wanted to give the crown to.
So I arranged for her to have a clear path through to finals. Rose, I felt, deserved it after how she's been and improved since she first showed up at LGT. It wasn't hard giving her Musical Chairs victory, mostly because the groundwork she'd already done being the LGT's Nao.
From then on, most of my work was to play secondary key to her, while pretending to be the big "I want to win" guy. And then work got too much during Human Auction and I missed multiple rounds.
Second secret is that I had a secret aide throughout the tournament until near the end. Lacey was, and is, a friend of mine. I may have masterminded the attempt to oust Deendir, via funding Lacey's bid. This was stymied by the fact that I was unaware how much debt Heather had, unfortunately. =P
Third secret, and my biggest.
I am dating Rose. And she and I communicated from the very start of the tournament.
She's also pretty amazing at convincing everyone to do her nice thing rather than stab each other, which in a place like the LGT is pretty awe inspiring.
Including me =P
I'll leave the rest of my posse to talk about what we did, I'll add comments as needed. Peace ya'll. Was fun inventing a new personae and pretending to be arrogant and full of myself XD

So, another one of the posse here. Unlike Avalon, I told them pretty early that I was aitou/nearco from LGT2/LGT1. I'll just talk about round 1 (Minority Game) for the time being. So, for that round, we had our alliance. We had 8 people, but we also knew that wasn't enough, because it could become a long-term tie. So, we went that step further. We got to 12. Sorta. Specifically, four of our members were recruited by another alliance. And thanks to the way that contracts were done, that alliance didn't want to sign contracts. (Goddamn Fiona almost ruined that). So, we proceeded to carefully play around the way that they were voting to ensure we would get the desired situation. First round, we got our alliance to have a 7/5 split, with four of each side being from our alliance. From there, it was almost impossible to get a tie. Reynard went to work to ensure it wouldn't happen, just to be sure. See, during the first voting round, whitelion had approached me to try to weigh the odds in his favour. I already knew how he was voting (coz my alliance had told me). I already knew that I was voting the other way. So, i told him I had an alliance, but I had my suspicions of a few members. Or something like that. During the next voting round, there were a total of 7 players left standing. Four of them were our alliance, four of them were his alliance. That should have told him something was wrong. But, nope. So, he approached me again, and I said that the results were suspicious. I gave him the implication that my alliance contained superfreak, who i was suspicious of. Of course, my alliance did not contain superfreak. But that's beside the point . So, whitelion proceeded to question the integrity of his own alliance, and instead teamed up with me to ensure his victory. Of course, there was the small problem that there were two players who were not lined up with me or whitelion, so we couldn't control their votes that easily. Fiona and Lacey. Luckily, fiona had given an out. She let loose a way around the contract plan that would ensure safety. I had shown some flaw in it (can't remember what), but found the way to patch it. I then proceeded to offer Fiona and Lacey sufficient money if they teamed up with me for this. I told them that they would be giving up their chance of victory, but would be guaranteed a share. I explained my plan. Fiona asked some questions, which I bullsh*tted perfectly. Lacey agreeing to it makes sense if she and avalon were working together. At this point, Avalon and I proceeded to win. After the round was over, we proceeded to pay off everyone except whitelion. That included the players in whitelion's alliance and our own. We also cleared superfeak's name, just to make sure we were in everyone's good books. We made it look like it was quite easily avoidable if whitelion wasn't such a moron, so, somehow, we walked out looking like the good guys to most of the other group, and they were willing to help us in future rounds. I suppose paying off their debts helped a lot.

Testing, testing. I believe that all of my actions during and before Musical Chairs will be covered by the others, and a lot has happened in my life and affected my mindset since then, so I will only comment on what little I can remember of the rounds after that. Almost all of my thought work were done in Musical Chairs, but I'll leave that for someone else to detail out if anyone wants to. After Musical Chairs my play was affected a good deal. I actively started to hide under a rock and cut off all communications, since communications wouldn't exactly do me any good. To comment further on this, the technical structures of the later games gave me a lot of advantages. Aside from this, there's not much I'd like to comment and I'd rather keep my thoughts to myself regarding those games. I also administered some tests, but they didn't mean too much. Now, for Garden of Eden... At this point I had two options: Either to go for an upset gold vote, or vote red. I actually liked to see an all-red vote and it happened to coincide with my interests more, so I went with it. Now I wish I'd have voted gold just to play my part to the end. And for my future involvements with all this, I am not exactly sure. I have lost a lot of my vigor on many things, but I will probably stay around for news and updates. And perhaps host some minigames while I'm at it.
I should have voted gold like I originally planned to Well, regarding other players, I'd like to abstain from commenting as well... At least for a public post. I'm sure everyone here has my contact on Skype, and if asked to clarify anything, I'll try to do my best. In case I am needed for other matters not related to the game, also shoot me a message on Skype.
That's it for now. Since I am more of an organizer than a player nowadays, anyone wants to play minigames? (Addendum: I had a lot of contigency plans set in action for Garden of Eden in case everyone doesn't want to vote red. Too bad. And that pool system in Human Auction was, well... I like to believe that was partly my doing. )

So. That r5 thing you said. I had considered going gold for one simple reason. Test round. Let's say one person voted gold while everyone else voted red. Then that person wins. That was our unfavourable situation.
But, let's say that I voted gold, and convinced one other person to go gold with me. Let's say superfreak, as he was the one I was contemplating approaching on this. So, whitelion then decides to go gold. At this point, we have three people who voted gold. The red players are still in the game, the gold players get an advantage though. However, in this case, superfreak and I would be on equal footing with whitelion.
I decided against this, but... it was a thing I did consider.

That was a situation I had considered in mind for one of my contingency plans, and I was pretty confident that I'd win even when it turned out there are more than 1 gold. If there's one thing I consider myself decent at, it'd be blindly guessing how everyone else would move... I still should have gone with gold. Bah.

Just going to point out that the good pr was mostly because Reynard. I figured I'd let reynard do his own gloating. If anyone deserves to gloat for this, it's him.

Hey everyone! So, I want to be able to say that I have some super mastermind-like thing planned the entire time, or that I masterminded everything that took place here, but that would be an outright lie, and we don’t need that now!
I came into this tournament alone just wanting to be able to see how far I could make it. Being that this is my first tournament, it was really fun to be able to see the games that the dealers came up with, and I had an absolute blast! When I signed up, I figured I could make it through the first two, maybe three rounds, and I’m completely floored that I made the final, let alone win the tournament with the other finalists. I didn’t play this to the best of my ability, mostly because I was intimidated by all of you (believe it or not!) when everyone was acting like they knew what they were doing and I didn’t.
So, because of that, I barely talked to people and was probably outright carried to the final by Reynard. I’d say the only rounds that I was able to prove myself was in the LGT duels and Human Auction, which I’m happy to be able to say that I won two revival rounds! I mean, other than that, I don’t really have any room to gloat here (and I’m realizing how much I was duped throughout the game *cough cough* minority rule *cough cough*)
So, with all of that said, I had a great time playing in this tournament and I really hope there’s another one sometime in the future! When that happens, I’ll definitely be there!

I didn’t play this to the best of my ability, mostly because I was intimidated by all of you (believe it or not!) when everyone was acting like they knew what they were doing and I didn’t. OK, a lot of stuff was worth pointing out here, but this particular line jumped out more than any other. Big life secret. Noone knows what they are doing. We just lie and pretend we do. Act confident, don't get shaken, and make things work. (Not "things will work out". Make them work out.) So... for those unaware... The alliance consisted of Darinas, myself, Imada, Reynard, Rose, Avalon, Ncoatney and Hazelnut. (Helpful mnemonic: Dashing Deceivers In Royal Regalia And New Hats). In minority game, whitelion's alliance consisted of himself, cozzer, superfreak, imada, reynard and rose. Sorta also avalon and one other. I can't remember who the other was, I never spoke to him. Turbo-something? For the revival round, we had clearly cut ties with whitelion. But, imada was in the same game as cozzer, superfreak and morte. So, imada worked with those guys. Morte would have kept hanging around with this group, but went inactive in round 2 (contraband). So, this was the chance to see if those 3 could work comfortably with imada. There was a contract, but it had a slight screw-up. I offered them money as compensation for not catching it, but none of them took it. So... at that point, superfreak and cozzer were good "satellite members", like in the manga's Musical Chairs game. We didn't tell them of our full alliance (although there were some times we considered bringing them both in, main problem was that the alliance was already kinda big). Sure, you got played in minority. But, you were perfect in the downsizing round, and I gave you mad props for being one of (to the best of my knowledge) 3 players who found out how to win the 17 card poker game.
