ROUND 8The Tax Commissioner swallowed as he stared out a window three stories high. Today was cloudier than his thoughts right now, the honking cars in the distance inaudible compared to the mass of protesters chanting and waving signs on the lawn in front of City Hall. In fact, there were so many that they ended up blocking the roads and forcing traffic elsewhere. Nobody likes traffic congestion, so this is a rotten day for everyone. “We demand cheaper gas!” “Water is a human right!” “Imada Saneatsu isn’t above the law!” Why can’t these ingrates understand that the 1% is doing all it can to provide? Who do they think is funding their gas subsidy? Paying to find enough water for the 99% blob to drink? And everyone has days when they forget to add postage while mailing in a check. Alas, the 99% just don’t consider other perspectives. Taxes Due: $1382 (there was a deficit of $382 from round 7) Contribution in round 6: $665/$1047 Each players has gained (7) protesters. ($382 deficit = 7 protesters) Inactive: (Player#06) Imada Saneatsu did not send in a decision for round 7.

You should very shortly receive a PM with your information for round 8. Send in a PM with your next contribution and any other expenses to Tenerani. The money for round 8 is due Tuesday, 24 March 2015, 3:05 AM GMT. You may change your decision until then. To speed up the game, you may also finalize your decision. You can still change a finalized decision, but the round automatically ends once all players have sent a finalized decision. You may also send in decisions for future rounds. You may find this option useful to avoid inactive penalties, especially if you're unsure about whether or not you'll be able to send a decision before the deadline. Take note that a future decision cannot be finalized until the round it's due in has started.

ROUND 9A shivering man dressed in construction clothes, overcoat, and gloves growled as he read the morning’s newspaper in a kitchen. No coffee today, the man couldn’t make enough to pay for heating. But the headline picture warmed him inside. The front page had a picture of Tax Commissioner Pennybags behind a podium, dabbing his forehead with a handkerchief as he tried to explain why there wasn’t enough money coming in to keep the country patched. Paying only $1132, the 1% didn’t dent the last deficit. Clearly they were instead paying Commissioner Moneybags to keep the cash in the hands of a few! A long time ago, the man thought that the rich were decent people. Now, maybe the protesters were right after all. Where’s that picket sign... Taxes Due: $1250 (there was a deficit of $250 from round 8) Contribution in round 8: $1132/$1382 Each players has gained (5) protesters.($250 deficit = 5 protesters) Property | Protesters | Cost to Remove | Park Place | 2 | $500 | Pennsylvania Avenue | 2 | $450 | North Carolina Avenue | 2 | $390 | Pacific Avenue | 2 | $390 | Marvin Gardens | 2 | $360 | Ventnor Avenue | 2 | $330 | Atlantic Avenue | 2 | $330 | Illinois Avenue | 2 | $300 | Indiana Avenue | 2 | $250 | Kentucky Avenue | 2 | $250 | New York Avenue | 2 | $220 | Tennessee Avenue | 2 | $200 | St. James Place | 2 | $200 | Virginia Avenue | 2 | $180 | States Avenue | 2 | $150 | St. Charles Place | 2 | $150 | Connecticut Avenue | 2 | $100 | Vermont Avenue | 2 | $90 | Oriental Avenue | 2 | $90 | Baltic Avenue | 2 | $60 | Mediterranean Avenue | 2 | $30 |

GAME OVERTax Commissioner Moneybags rubbed the clammy bridge of his nose, the joyful jingle of a radio commercial trying to cheer him up. Why was he so dizzy? Where did he go wrong? Calls and e-mails kept pouring in; some demanding to know what the 1% was going to do about that gaping deficit, others demanding a resignation. Then there was the video that went viral, where a mob of police were clonking a couple innocent protesters and knocking down several others. In earlier times, when the 1% was more generous, perhaps the incident would've been overlooked as a glitch. Today, however, it seemed that every news outlet had something to say about the greedy 1% and the degenerate Tax Commissioner letting them slide through. Like right now. The radio decided to give up on making Moneybags happy (he's 1% scum anyway, right?) and instead began broadcasting an interview with a protester. “They kept us down. The 1% thought that if they swept that deficit under the rug, that if they didn’t pay, we’d admit defeat. The 1% thought that if they beat us and tazed us, we’d go home crying. The 1% thought wrong. We kept holding them accountable. We came back after a bruising. “WE ARE THE 99%!!” The phone rang. His hands shaking, Moneybags picked it up and answered with a hoarse voice. “H-Hello?” “Tax Commissioner Moneybags, this is President Tenerani speaking.” (Gulp!) “I know you’ve been having a rough time recently. I feel for you. And I know you’re doing your best, but would you like to take a break and step down?” As if Moneybags can say “no” at this point. “T-Thank you for your generosity. It pains me to do this, but...would you accept my resignation?” “We’ll miss you dearly. But hey, don’t worry! I’ll soon have someone ready to jump in, kick butt, and get the 1% back in line. For the honest, hardworking 99% of our country, the future is looking really bright.” Contribution in round 9: $986/$1250 Each players has gained (5) protesters.($264 deficit = 5 protesters) 2 protesters were brutalized off Baltic Avenue. There are now 13/12 properties occupied. Unfortunately, that means the government has decided to crack down the 1%, so all players lose. Property | Protesters | Cost to Remove | Park Place | OCCUPIED | -- | Pennsylvania Avenue | OCCUPIED
